Saint Andrew the Apostle was the first disciple to be called by Jesus, he was the brother to Peter, and eventually would be martyred for his faith. He refused to be crucified in the same way as Christ had been, thus St. Andrew's cross represents the alternative torture he endured. His symbolism likely calls to mind the Scottish flag, one of several countries he is Patron of, which is largely because the flag of Scotland is based on him.
This is a design you will only find here at Plena Gratia Designs. Rich with symbolism, this is one of the many ways we believe you can be explicitly and authentically Catholic in your every day life, possibly instigating conversations about one of your favorite saints.
